How has your life been shaped by travel?
We want to know.
Return Trip is a travel zine that explores feelings in an international context through personal essays, stories, literature, poetry, travel diaries, photography, art, conversations and more.
This isn't a travel guide or a checklist. Our publication embraces vulnerability, celebrates the importance of leaving your comfort zone, and encourages experiencing moments of change on the road.
Some themes we're interested in exploring:
Culture Diversity Home Migration Displacement Immigration Nostalgia Loss Alienation Feeling Different Place Direction Intuition Altruism Escape Identity
How to submit
We strive to be inclusive and share diverse world views. We’re always looking for different perspectives outside the traditional travel narrative. All submissions will be considered, however, we encourage contributions from people of colour, marginalized people and Indigenous people.
We acknowledge that travel is a privilege. That doesn’t mean you’ve had to travel in order to contribute. You can write about where you live, too. Ideally, stories should have a purpose or an angle that readers can learn from and think about in deeper ways.
Our themes are very much up to interpretation, and we encourage free experimentation. Send your pitches, drafts and collaboration ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org.
